At the core of our company is a simple belief: Cyclists in Britain are spoilt. For such a small collection of islands, there is a remarkable diversity of landscapes to uncover. How can you compare the rugged landscape of the Hebrides with the fairy-tale villages of the Cotswolds, for instance? How about the rolling farmland of Yorkshire with the steep, coastal undulations of Cornwall, or the lofty peaks and passes of the Scottish Highlands with the flat lowlands of Norfolk? All are unique.

Even putting scenery aside, a British cycling journey uncovers several millennia of history and culture. You’ll pedal along overgrown tracks which once felt the heavy march of Roman legions, pass medieval castles which once staged theatrical battles, and sleep in tiny villages forgotten by the 21st-century’s rapid development.
A labyrinth of narrow roads, cycle paths and bridleways criss-cross the British Isles, as if their sole purpose is to carry cyclists from one highlight to the next. We have no doubts a bicycle is the best way to explore Britain, and are thrilled to share some of our favourite routes with you!
E-Bikes have revolutionised cycling, making it accessible to more people than ever. Our range of e-bike tours take advantage of these new possibilities and are planned with you in mind! Our 16 Day or 23 Day Lands End to John O’Groats Touris perfect for an E-Bike Challange Trip. Alternatively our premium and luxury self guided cycling holidays have been researched and planned to allow you to enjoy cycling and visiting the best of Britain on Bike

For the advanced cyclist, we’re certain you’ll love our ‘Hero’ Tours. These are the gruelling challenges you’ve no doubt heard of; the trips you’ll remember for a lifetime; the stories you’ll brag about for years to come!
We’re talking about challenges like Land’s End to John O’Groats. Cycle from Britain’s most south-westerly extreme to its most north-easterly with our range of guided trips, from nine days to … days, or even with an e-bike!
Maybe you’d prefer to focus on Scotland and tackle the ever-popular North Coast 500. Pedal a lap of Scotland, sandwiched between mountain and sea, watching the drama unfold around you.
If you prefer the freedom of taking things at your own pace, check out our self-supported tours; we’ll arrange the hotels, provide straightforward notes and GPS tracks, and even carry your bags between your accommodation. We have expert cyclists available to answer any questions so all you have to do is enjoy the cycling! Check out our six-day lap of the Cotswolds, and our weekend London escape to pedal a Roman Road.
Got your eye on one of our tours but not sure if you’re fit enough? We can help you! We offer a cycling coaching program. In your first session we’ll discuss your goals and then form a plan tailored to you.
And if none of our tours are quite perfect for you, or you’re a large group or cycling club, or you want knowledge about a region we don’t cover yet – then get in touch and we’ll be happy to create a bespoke tour for you.
Who Are We?
Alan Little, Cycle Britain Director
Alan fell in love with cycling when he was just a young kid heading into the Yorkshire Dales. That obsession has never faded. He’s cycled in Tibet and Nepal, toured across France, competed in triathlons and mountain biked down volcanoes, but his real passion is cycling in Britain. He created Cycle Britain to share that with you! In September 2020 Alan completed the cycle Britain. The triple is our challenge to complete the North Coast 500, Cycle Across the Hebrides and complete the Lands End to John O’Groats in a timescale that suits you.
Josiah Skeats, Tour Manager
Josiah finished studying law in 2014… and he’s been running away from it ever since! He packed his panniers and spent three years cycling 45,000 kilometres (28,000 miles) around the world through 38 different countries. His hunger for cycling adventures is contagious and has led him to Cycle Britain, where he plans and guides many of our trips.
Alex, Support Driver
Alex’s smiling face will be a welcome sight! He drives our support bus while carrying your bags, spreading positive motivation when times are tough, and handing out drinks and snacks!
What Can You Expect From Us?
With any tour booked with Cycle Britain, we make three important promises;
- Our staff are experienced and passionate about cycling in Britain. From the office staff who arrange your trips to the guides and mechanics who accompany you, we are all here to support and encourage you every pedal stroke of the way.
- Lots of research and experience goes into choosing the best routes possible. We opt for backcountry lanes and cycle paths away from heavy traffic. We select routes that combine picturesque scenery with cultural and historical highlights.
- We choose accommodation where comfort, rest and good hospitality is guaranteed, but we also make extra effort to discover places with wow-factor. On our tours, you may stay in a converted lighthouse or prison, in a grand Manor House, or in England’s highest inn! We can make this promise because we use our accommodation regularly and have fostered positive relationships with their owners.
Cycle Britain cares about preserving the incredible environments we showcase, and thus, we take pride in our sustainability policy. We strive to be carbon-neutral and don’t use single-use plastics.
